:bar_chart: Declarative Charting Framework for Angular
ngx-charts is an Angular component library for bar, line, area, pie, gauge, heatmap, treemap, and sankey charts. Angular renders the SVG through its templates, and d3 handles only the scales, axes, and shape math. It suits Angular teams that want charts as ordinary bindable components with SSR support, and it is a poor fit for anyone who needs a canvas renderer or a non-Angular stack.
Because Angular owns the DOM, the charts behave like any other component. You bind data, change detection re-renders them, and AoT and SSR work without special handling. Styling is plain CSS overrides on the SVG classes, which is much easier to live with than a theme object or fighting a canvas API. The stock chart catalogue is wide, and the custom-chart path reuses the internal series, axis, and legend components, so you are not limited to the built-in types.
Everything is SVG, with no canvas or WebGL path, so a few thousand points across several series will slow down rendering and animation, and nothing in the library helps with that. Custom charts depend on internal components that the README never promises to keep stable, so expect some rework when you upgrade. Release versions are tied to Angular majors through peer dependencies, which means an Angular upgrade can force a chart upgrade the same week. Docs are split between a GitBook site and markdown files in the repo, so finding a configuration option means checking both.
