// the take

A bash installer that sets up Caddy, MariaDB, and PHP on a single AlmaLinux/RockyLinux/CentOS/Debian/Ubuntu box, aimed at people running a small VPS who want a working LAMP-style stack in one command. It also ships a small `lcmp` CLI for everyday admin: adding vhosts, managing databases, starting/stopping services.

It installs from real upstream package repos (MariaDB's own repo, Remi for PHP on RPM distros, deb.sury.org for PHP on Debian/Ubuntu) rather than building from source or vendoring binaries, so you get normal package-manager updates afterward. The `lcmp vhost add/del` and `lcmp db add/del` commands wrap the fiddly parts of standing up a new site (Caddyfile entry + MariaDB user/db) into one call, which is the actual time-saver over doing this by hand. Caddy's automatic HTTPS means you skip the usual certbot dance entirely. Distro/PHP version coverage is wide (PHP 7.4 through 8.5, three MariaDB branches, EL8-10 plus recent Debian/Ubuntu).

It's a root-run installer that edits system package sources and config files directly with no dry-run, no idempotency checks, and no rollback — a failure partway through (bad mirror, interrupted dnf transaction) can leave the box in a half-configured state you have to clean up by hand. There's no containerization story; this is strictly single bare-metal/VPS install, so it doesn't fit anyone who's already on Docker or needs more than one app server. It adds Teddysun's own repository (`dl.lamp.sh`) as a trusted package source for parts of the stack, which is a third-party dependency with no visible audit trail. It's effectively a one-person project (teddysun) with no CI shown for the install matrix, so cross-distro correctness relies on manual testing rather than automated verification.
