Matx -Free and open-source React Material UI Admin Dashboard Template
Matx is the free tier of a commercial MUI-based React admin dashboard template; the actual full product (customer/order/product CRUD pages, e-commerce app, invoice builder, etc.) is paywalled as 'MatX Pro'. It's for someone who wants a MUI dashboard shell to bootstrap an internal tool and doesn't mind a template-shop dependency rather than a maintained open-source project.
Ships a genuinely complete UI kit (data tables, rich text editor, drag-and-drop, Google Maps, multi-level menu) on top of MUI v5 with JWT auth and route-based lazy loading/code splitting already wired up. Migrated to Vite in v5, so the build isn't stuck on a dead CRA toolchain. The layout/theming system (MatxLayout, MatxTheme) is reasonably separated from page content, so swapping the nav style or color scheme doesn't mean rewriting pages.
This is a lead-gen artifact for a paid product, not an open-source project with its own roadmap — the README is a feature-comparison sales table, and the free version is deliberately missing the pages (customer/order/product management, working apps) that would make it useful for a real admin tool. Support is explicitly a paid feature ('6 month support' is Pro-only), so free users get no commitment. No visible test directory or CI config in the tree, which is typical for template-shop repos but means zero confidence in correctness after you start modifying it. Last meaningful feature push was almost a year ago (2025-01-22) with version-note changelogs instead of actual commit history, suggesting slow or sporadic maintenance of the free tier specifically.
