AlphaB135/tmux-bar
macOS menu bar app to launch tmux sessions in iTerm2. Written in Rust.
A macOS status bar utility that renders live tmux session output in a WKWebView popover and lets you jump into a session in iTerm2. Aimed at developers who run several tmux sessions and want a visual dashboard instead of switching terminals blind.
Clever use of WKWebView + a JS bridge to render ANSI-colored pane output as HTML instead of building a native table view by hand; capture-pane/list-sessions polling via tmux CLI is simple and doesn't require any tmux plugin or server-side hooks; per-session refresh via targeted DOM patching (generate_refresh_script) rather than full page reload is a reasonable perf choice for a status bar popover.
Single 900+ line main.rs with raw objc/cocoa msg_send calls and static mutable globals for every UI object (HANDLER, POPOVER, WEBVIEW, TIMER) — no encapsulation, and this pattern is inherently unsafe/fragile if invoked from multiple threads or re-entrant callbacks; zero tests, zero README visible in the tree, no screenshots, so there's no way to know what this looks like or how to build/install it; two oddly named CI workflow files (ci-build-optimization.yml, ci-opt-1778393953.yml) plus an unexplained fs-audit.yml and a stray mcp/ directory with a bun/TS project suggest leftover scaffolding or generated cruft rather than a deliberate project structure; hardcoded iTerm2 AppleScript means it won't work with Terminal.app or other emulators, and 0 stars/forks with no version tags means this is untested by anyone but the author.
