// the take
A Spanish-language tutorial project accompanying the CursoKotlin.com course, showing an Android quote app built up incrementally through MVVM, Clean Architecture, Retrofit with coroutines, Dagger Hilt DI, Room persistence, unit testing, and CI/CD. It's aimed at developers (fluent in Spanish) learning standard Android architecture patterns step by step, not at anyone looking for a library to pull into a real app.
The branch-per-lesson layout is genuinely useful pedagogically — each branch (simpleMVVM, CleanRetrofit, DaggerHilt, Room, UnitTests, ci/cd) is a diffable snapshot showing exactly what changes when you bolt on one more concern, instead of a single finished example you have to reverse-engineer. It covers the full practical stack a junior Android dev actually needs — networking, DI, local persistence, unit tests, CI — wired together in one coherent codebase rather than disconnected snippets. The CI workflows (ci.yml, testing.yml) are real, working GitHub Actions configs for an Android/Gradle project, which is more than most tutorial repos bother to include.
Everything — README, course material, videos — is Spanish-only, which caps the audience hard for an English-speaking newsletter. Last pushed August 2024 and still on Gradle 7.4; the architecture guidance is tied to a toolchain and Hilt/AGP version snapshot that's aging against current Android tooling, so some of it needs adjustment before following along verbatim. It's explicitly a teaching sample, not a library or starter template with ongoing maintenance — no releases, no versioning, nothing meant to be depended on. The domain (a quote-fetching app) is deliberately tiny, so the patterns are demonstrated but never stress-tested against real complexity like pagination, offline conflict handling, or multi-module builds.
