:lollipop: Lovely Emoticon and Emoji Keyboard for input
A small vanilla-JS widget that bolts an emoji/emoticon picker onto a textarea or input, popularized mainly through DIYgod's other RSS/social projects. Useful if you want a zero-framework picker for a comment box or chat input and don't mind supplying your own emoticon set.
The core idea is genuinely simple: point it at a target input, pass a JSON data source, and it renders a dropdown of clickable emoticons — no jQuery, no framework. It's CommonJS-compatible so it drops into a bundler workflow, and the emoticon set is fully external (just a JSON file), so you can swap in your own images or Unicode emoji without touching the source.
Last commit was January 2018 — this is an 8-year-old, permanently abandoned project with no chance of security or bug fixes. The default API option points at a personal third-party domain (api.anotherhome.net) that most adopters will silently depend on unless they read the docs closely and override it. There's no test suite in the repo, and the demo screenshot is hosted on Imgur rather than checked in. It also predates any accessibility conventions for picker widgets — no keyboard navigation or ARIA roles mentioned anywhere in the README or source layout.
