XBoot is a Chinese-market Spring Boot 2.x admin/backend boilerplate with a Vue+iView frontend, bundling JWT auth, dynamic RBAC, a code generator, Activiti workflow, and OAuth2/SSO out of the box. It's aimed at teams building internal admin systems in China who want a batteries-included starting point rather than assembling Spring Security, MyBatis, and a permission system themselves.

The code generator (Java/Vue/SQL from table definitions) is a real time-saver for CRUD-heavy admin work, not just a marketing bullet. It ships genuinely useful infrastructure most boilerplates skip: distributed rate limiting, a Redis-based synchronized lock, SnowFlake ID generation, and switchable log storage between MySQL and Elasticsearch. The dual-module layout (xboot-fast for a single app, xboot-module for a multi-module split) gives you a migration path as the project grows instead of forcing a rewrite.

Last commit was mid-2023 and it's still pinned to Spring Boot 2.x — Spring Boot 3 (Java 17 baseline) has been the norm for years now, so you're adopting a stack that's already aging out. Supporting both JPA and MyBatis-Plus as interchangeable data layers sounds flexible but in practice means two query paradigms to maintain and debug instead of one. The README advertises a GPL v3 license via badge but then states commercial use requires separately contacting the author for authorization — that's a real contradiction worth resolving with a lawyer before you ship anything built on it. Documentation and support live entirely off-repo (a paid QQ group, a Kancloud doc site, no English), so anything beyond the README is a translation and access problem for non-Chinese-speaking teams.
