// the take
A browser-based generative art toy that paints fictional flowers in the Gongbi (Chinese fine-brush) style, built entirely with canvas and procedural noise. Good fit for anyone into generative art, creative coding, or algorithmic botany simulation rather than developers looking for a reusable library.
Zero dependencies — no asset files, no external libraries, everything is computed polygons and pixel-level canvas manipulation, which makes the whole pipeline inspectable in one sitting. The procedural approach actually encodes real plant structure (branching, petal arrangement) rather than just throwing noise at a canvas, and ties it to a specific, less-common aesthetic reference instead of generic abstract art. Runs fully client-side with a live GitHub Pages demo, so there's zero friction to try it.
It's a single-purpose sketch, not a library: no npm package, no exposed API for parameters, no way to pull just the flower-generation logic into another project without copy-pasting main.js. No tests, and the only real documentation is a linked Google Drive PDF rather than anything in-repo. Dead since December 2021 with no issues/PR activity, so if the canvas APIs or browser behavior it depends on shift, nobody's fixing it.
