2D, 3D & VR experiments and tutorials in Godot 3 & 4
A personal grab-bag of 40+ small Godot 3/4 projects demonstrating specific mechanics and effects — damped oscillators, destructible terrain, VR hand tracking, car physics, shaders. It's for developers who want a working, minimal example of one specific technique rather than a library or framework to build on.
- Extremely narrow scope per project — each folder isolates one mechanic (e.g. rewind, grappling hook, inverse kinematics) so you can read the actual .gd script without wading through a full game's codebase
- Covers genuinely unusual territory most tutorials skip: VR hand-tracking physics, accelerometer-controlled gameplay over websockets, greenscreen camera compositing
- The 'Useful' section calls out real engine gotchas (GLES2 breaking IK meshes, Bullet physics ignoring runtime gravity changes) that would otherwise cost hours to debug blind
- MIT licensed with no strings attached for lifting code into your own project
- No per-project README — you get a one-line description in a giant table and have to open the scene/script yourself to understand what's going on, there's no explanation of the technique or why it works
- Godot 4 migration is partial: everything before March 2023 is frozen on a separate 3.x branch, so half the catalog is effectively unmaintained legacy code
- No CI, no tests, no versioning — these are throwaway experiments, several explicitly marked WIP, so don't expect any of them to be production-ready or even fully functional
- Last pushed December 2024 with no indication of what, if anything, is still being added
