NativePHP/laravel
Laravel wrapper for the NativePHP framework
A Laravel package that lets you build native desktop apps in PHP by wrapping window management, menus, notifications, and OS integration behind familiar facades (Window, Menu, Notification, Clipboard, etc.). Aimed at Laravel developers who want a desktop app without touching Electron or a second language. Archived as of this snapshot — the project moved to nativephp/desktop, so anyone starting fresh should go there instead.
The facade surface is broad and well organized — windows, menu bars, global shortcuts, power monitor, notifications, printers, child processes — each with its own namespace and dedicated event classes rather than one giant God object. It ships fakes for nearly every subsystem (WindowManagerFake, QueueWorkerFake, PowerMonitorFake, GlobalShortcutFake) so app code can be unit tested without spinning up a real window. CI runs Pest tests, PHPStan, and an automated code-style fix workflow on every push, which is more rigor than most Laravel packages bother with.
This repo is only the PHP-side API — the actual window rendering and OS-level plumbing lives in a separate native binary this package talks to, so you can't judge the hard part (cross-platform packaging, native bridge reliability) from this code alone. It's archived, so bugs here won't get fixed and the docs it links to are for the successor project, not this one. Documentation is entirely external (nativephp.com), nothing in-repo beyond a README pointing outward, which makes the source harder to trust on its own. Config split across nativephp.php and nativephp-internal.php hints at internal coupling to the packaging step that isn't visible or explained in this repo.
