💻 Send notifications to your desktop from your Laravel Artisan Commands. An JoliNotif wrapper for Laravel.
A small Laravel package that adds a notify() macro to Artisan commands and sends a native desktop notification through JoliNotif, so you get a nudge when a long-running local command finishes. It is aimed at developers running commands on their own machine, not at production servers, where a desktop notification has nowhere useful to go.
The public surface is one macro with an optional icon argument, and underneath it sits a Notifier contract and facade, so the implementation can be swapped or faked in tests without touching command code. The cross-platform work is delegated to JoliNotif instead of being reimplemented per OS, which is the right call at this size. The repo includes a tests directory with a service provider test and a GitHub Actions workflow, and the PHP 8.1+ floor is not going to hold anyone back.
The README documents only the macro and never says what the platform needs. On Linux, notifications go through the desktop's notification service, and the README does not say what happens when no notifier is available, so the failure mode is something you find out by hitting it. The value over calling JoliNotif directly is a macro and a service provider, which most teams could write in an afternoon, and the icon argument is a bare path with no guidance on format or size per platform.
