A Toast notification library for the Laravel TALL stack. You can push notifications from the backend or frontend to render customizable toasts with almost zero footprint on the published CSS/JS 🔥🚀

A small Laravel package that lets you fire toast notifications from either PHP (controllers, Blade, Livewire components) or JS, built specifically for the TALL stack (Tailwind, Alpine, Livewire, Laravel). It's for Laravel shops using Livewire who want flash-style notifications without reaching for a JS toast library and wiring up their own event bridge.

The architecture is genuinely minimal: the frontend is one Alpine plugin with no bundler dependency, and the claimed <1kb Brotli JS size checks out given the single-file resources/js/tall-toasts.js. The pushOnNextPage() API solves the actual annoying problem of showing a toast after a redirect, which is the case most ad-hoc flash-message implementations get wrong. CI is more thorough than most packages this size — PHPStan, Psalm, PHPMD and PHPCS all run on PRs alongside PestPHP tests, and the support matrix covers Laravel 8 through 12 and both Livewire 2 and 3.

doNotSanitize() is a real XSS footgun — the only safeguard is a README warning, there's no type-level or runtime guard stopping someone from piping user input through it six months after they forgot the warning exists. Backend-triggered toasts are hard-coupled to Livewire (the WireToast trait and <livewire:toasts /> component are required), so a Tailwind+Alpine app without Livewire only gets the frontend-only Toast.* API, which undercuts the 'TALL stack' pitch for anyone not fully in that stack. There's no mention of accessibility — no aria-live region, no role=alert on the toast container in the docs — which is a basic expectation for any notification UI. It's also effectively a single-maintainer project (one name on 'Other Packages', no visible co-maintainers), so bus-factor risk is worth weighing against the 572 stars.
