// the take
A Surge/QuantumultX/Loon rule-set repo that bundles ad-blocking domain and rule lists pulled together from several Chinese proxy-rule maintainers (ACL4SSR, anti-AD, ConnersHua, lhie1, Scomper) into three ready-to-subscribe files. It's for people running Surge, QuantumultX or Loon on iOS/macOS who want one URL to subscribe to instead of stitching together five different rule sources themselves.
Saves the tedious part of proxy rule management: picking and merging multiple ad-block sources into DOMAIN-SET/RULE-SET files that are directly consumable by each client's config. Ships client-specific formats (Surge DOMAIN-SET vs QuantumultX's own syntax) instead of a one-size-fits-all file. The README is upfront about known false positives in AD_Block_Plus.txt and about which rules are China-specific, which is more honest than most rule aggregators.
The maintainer announced in the README that the project stopped being maintained in September 2022 — ad networks and tracking domains churn constantly, so a frozen list degrades every month after that date regardless of the 2024 last-push timestamp (likely just a doc tweak, not rule updates). There's no build pipeline or automated pull from upstream sources shown anywhere, so updates were always manual and sporadic even before maintenance stopped. Most of the list is explicitly scoped to Chinese ad networks and apps, so it does little for anyone outside that ecosystem. Being a plain aggregation with no deduplication or conflict-resolution logic visible, it inherits every false positive and stale entry from its five upstream sources with no way to audit which rule came from where.
