// the take

A console-based appointment booking system for doctors and patients, written in C using structs and arrays rather than classes — a structured-programming course assignment modeled loosely on Vezeeta. It's for someone looking at an example of non-OOP C systems design (schedules, search, ratings), not for anyone looking for a usable scheduling tool.

It covers a genuinely complete feature set for both sides of the booking flow — doctors manage availability and see who's booked, patients search by username, book, edit, rate, and clear history — rather than stopping at a token CRUD demo. The input validation and date-to-weekday conversion are pulled into single reusable functions instead of being copy-pasted at every call site, which is more disciplined than most assignments at this level.

Storage is fixed-size in-memory arrays with no database or file persistence described, so capacity is hardcoded and there's no real way to scale past whatever bounds were picked at compile time. There's no authentication or access-control model — doctor/patient profiles and credentials are just struct data, fine for a grade, not something to point at production. It's a single-contributor, one-star project with no commits since September 2024 and no tests, so it's a finished assignment rather than something that will take bug reports or grow a second feature.
