A wrapper for FFmpeg on Android

A thin JNI wrapper exposing FFmpeg's command-line interface to Android apps via a single native method call. Aimed at Android devs circa 2013-2016 who needed basic video transcoding without shipping a full FFmpeg Java binding. Dead since 2016 and explicitly marked not production-ready by its own author.

The approach is simple: one Android.mk, one JNI C file, one Java class calling into FFmpeg's own main() via NDK. No bytecode magic, no reflection, easy to read end to end in a few minutes. Minimal footprint if you only need to shell out to FFmpeg's CLI rather than reimplement a player or encoder pipeline.

README literally says 'This library isn't yet ready for anyone to use... yet' — that was never fixed, and the repo has had zero commits since 2016. You have to build FFmpeg for Android yourself and manually drop .so files and headers into libs/ and jni/include, there's no prebuilt binary or Gradle dependency. It predates the Android Gradle plugin's NDK support, so it ships a hand-rolled ndk-build.sh shim instead of using current build tooling, and targets an NDK ABI and toolchain that modern Android Studio won't build against without rework.
