The video processing framework based on FFmpeg developed on Android is simple, easy to use, and small in size, helping users quickly realize video processing functions. Contains the following functions: editing, cropping, rotating, mirroring, merging, separating, variable speed, adding LOGO, adding filters, adding background music, accelerating and decelerating video, rewinding audio and video.

EpMedia is a Java wrapper around FFmpeg's command-line tool for Android, giving you clip/crop/rotate/merge/speed/reverse/overlay operations without hand-rolling FFmpeg invocations yourself. It's aimed at Android devs who need basic video editing features in-app and don't want to build and bind FFmpeg from scratch.

Covers the common editing operations (clip, crop, rotate, mirror, merge, demux, speed change, reverse, frame extraction, image-to-video) with a reasonably clean fluent-ish Java API. It also exposes addFilter() for raw FFmpeg filter strings and execCmd() for arbitrary FFmpeg commands, so you're not boxed in by the wrapped methods when you need something custom. Ships prebuilt .so files for arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, and x86_64, so there's no NDK build step for consumers.

No commits since August 2021 — FFmpeg 4.2.2 and minSdk 21 are both badly dated, and nothing here has been tested against scoped storage, modern codecs, or current Play Store target SDK requirements. Text overlay (addText) was explicitly removed in v1.0.0 due to unresolved build issues with the dependency and never came back, despite still being documented in the README as if it works. Distributed via JitPack rather than Maven Central, which adds a point of failure for anyone depending on it long-term. No tests, no CI, and no documentation of threading behavior or how progress/cancellation actually interacts with the underlying FFmpeg process.
