// the take
A minimal example OPC UA server written in C against open62541, built to accompany a specific modeling tutorial on opcua.rocks. It's for someone working through that tutorial who wants runnable code to go with the written explanation of OPC UA information modeling, not a starting point for a real server.
Pairs directly with a written tutorial, so the code maps 1:1 to concepts being explained rather than being a dump you have to reverse-engineer. Builds on open62541, a real and actively maintained OPC UA stack, instead of rolling custom protocol handling. Small surface area - one main.c plus a model submodule - so you can read the whole thing in a sitting. Has a CI workflow that actually builds it, which is more than most tutorial repos bother with.
Dead since October 2020 with only 2 stars; open62541's API has changed since then and there's no indication this still builds against current versions. The information model lives in a separate repo pulled in as a git submodule, so you're syncing two repos just to run one example. No error handling or anything resembling production concerns (auth beyond defaults, session management) - it's explicitly scoped to teach modeling, not to be a template you copy into a real project. Essentially unused outside its own tutorial, so there's no community feedback validating the approach.
