SRIKAR6415/Smart-Inventory-and-Warehouse-Management-System
Develop an inventory system for products, suppliers, stock levels and orders using suitable data structures. Searching and sorting support inventory operations, while queues manage orders. An AI extension can forecast product demand.
A console-based inventory and warehouse management tool written in plain C, built as a data-structures showcase rather than a real product. It's for students or anyone wanting a worked example of arrays, linked lists, and queues applied to a CRUD-style domain (products, suppliers, orders, sales).
Each domain gets its own .c/.h pair (product, supplier, inventory, order, sales_history, forecast, reports), so the code is at least organized by concern instead of dumped in one main.c. It deliberately picks a different structure per problem — array for products, linked list for suppliers, queue for order processing — rather than forcing everything into one container, which is the actual point of the exercise. All major entities persist to files, so state survives a restart.
The 'demand forecasting' is a plain average over recent sales, not anything resembling AI/ML despite the project description calling it an AI extension — that's a misleading label. Selection sort and linear/binary search are the textbook choices, not anything you'd want once the product count grows past a few thousand, and there's no indication of how large files are read (likely full reload into arrays on every run). No tests, no error handling details for malformed file data, and it's single-user/single-process by design — fine for a class assignment, but calling it a 'warehouse management system' oversells what's a console demo with zero stars and no other contributors.
