STM32Cube MCU Full Package for the STM32H7 series - (HAL + LL Drivers, CMSIS Core, CMSIS Device, MW libraries plus a set of Projects running on all boards provided by ST (Nucleo, Evaluation and Discovery Kits))
This is ST's official firmware drop for the STM32H7 MCU line: HAL/LL drivers, CMSIS core and DSP libs, BSP code for every Nucleo/Eval/Discovery board, and example projects per board. It's for firmware developers targeting STM32H7 chips who need register-level abstraction and board support without writing it from scratch.
The HAL/LL split gives you both a portable high-level API and a lower-level one when you need the extra cycles. CMSIS-DSP ships with real worked examples (FFT, convolution, dot product) rather than just header stubs. It's actively maintained and the GitHub version runs ahead of what's on st.com via a rolling release, so you're not stuck waiting on ST's official downloads for fixes.
TouchGFX, STemWin, and the ST Audio middleware are stripped out over licensing, so anything touching a display or audio codec needs a separate click-through download from st.com before the examples actually build. The submodule setup is clunky: a full recursive clone pulls down every board's BSP and vendored component history whether you need it or not, and the README's four different clone/checkout paths is a sign the repo structure fights you rather than helps. There's no real architectural documentation beyond a getting-started PDF and HTML release notes — you're expected to lean on STM32CubeMX (external GUI tool) for anything past copy-pasting an example project.
