SameeulKhondokerJisan/supply-chain-warehouse-optimization-system

C · MIT · updated Jun 2026

A C-based supply chain management system that handles product inventory, supplier records, shipment tracking, and logistics cost analytics using file-based storage.

A single-file C console app simulating warehouse ops: product/supplier records, shipment logging, and basic cost stats (mean/variance/stddev), all persisted to flat .dat files. It's a student systems-programming exercise, not something built for actual logistics work — useful if you want a worked example of file I/O, structs, and a login flow in C.

Covers real C fundamentals end to end — struct-based records, binary file persistence across four separate .dat files, and a from-scratch stats routine (variance/stddev) rather than just printing totals. The activity logging on every operation (login, add, shipment, exit) is a nice touch most student projects skip.

The README documents the default admin credentials (admin/admin123) in plain text, and 'password hashing' with no algorithm named is almost certainly something trivial and reversible — don't trust this for anything with real data. The compiled binary (supply_chain_system) and the .dat/.txt data files are checked into the repo, which is a packaging mistake, not a style nit. 'Optimization system' overstates it: there's no actual optimization (no reorder-quantity math, no routing, no cost minimization), just inventory tracking plus descriptive stats. Zero stars, zero forks, and a single monolithic .c file with no tests suggest this was built and shipped once, not maintained.
