A roguelike dungeon crawler in C with ncurses, featuring procedural generation, tactical combat, and status effects

A single-author, ncurses-based roguelike dungeon crawler written in C, split into per-system files (combat, inventory, status effects, ranged weapons, save/load). It's for someone who wants a terminal roguelike to play or fork, not a library or tool anyone would depend on.

The code is broken into sensible per-system modules (ability.c, enemy.c, ranged.c, status.c, save.c) rather than one giant main.c, which is more than a lot of hobby C projects manage. It implements a real save/load system and a turn-based ranged combat mode with directional aiming, which is nontrivial to get right in a terminal UI. The 'Known Issues' section is honest about real limitations (terminal size requirement, save file portability) instead of hiding them.

Zero stars, zero forks, and a single push date — this is an untested, unreviewed solo project with no evidence anyone but the author has run it. There's no CI, no tests, and no screenshots or asciinema demo for a terminal game, so you can't tell if it actually plays well without cloning and building it yourself. It's Linux/ncurses-only with no portability story (no PDCurses path for Windows). The README is mostly a marketing-style feature list with emoji bullet points and unchecked 'Future Enhancement' and 'Achievement' checklists, which reads like padding rather than documentation of how the code is structured or how to extend it.
