Unofficial Youtube Music Desktop App, with Discord RPC & LastFM support.

An unofficial Electron desktop client for YouTube Music, written in TypeScript, that adds Last.fm scrobbling, Discord Rich Presence, a tray now-playing popup, synced lyrics, custom themes and OBS browser-source overlays. It is for people who already listen on YouTube Music and want those extras without keeping a browser tab open.

Each integration has its own module and tRPC router (lib/lastfm and lib/discord-rpc, plus trpc/routers/lastfm and discord), so Last.fm or Discord behavior can be changed without reading the rest of the main process. The tree has an auth/crypto layer, a keytar wrapper and a secureStore module, which suggests credentials are kept out of plain config, and the docs include an encrypted-stores page. The documented OBS URL is 127.0.0.1, and the Stream Deck setup offers an authorization requirement for clients, which is the right shape for a local server. Unit tests cover the parts that fail quietly: quit policy, logging, Discord IPC path resolution and building embeds from track metadata.

The YouTube Music integration works by injecting preload scripts into the web player, so every upstream DOM or player change is a possible break, and the README says nothing about the terms-of-service exposure of an unofficial client. Install depends on the GitHub CLI and a read:packages token to pull the Venipa/xosms package, and the README offers no fallback for anyone without that. The README's setup section is three shell commands and a feature list, so anything beyond that means digging through the separate docs app. There is one maintainer, and the README calls this a project made 'for my one use', so release pace depends on one person's time.
