Weaverse/pilot
A fully-featured Shopify Hydrogen theme crafted to help you launch modern, high-performing headless storefronts in minutes.
A production Shopify Hydrogen theme (React Router 7, Tailwind v4, Radix) wired up to Weaverse Studio, a proprietary visual page editor, so merchants can change layout and content without a redeploy. It's for teams building a headless Shopify storefront who want a maintained starting point and are fine adopting Weaverse's CMS layer alongside it, not for anyone wanting a neutral Hydrogen boilerplate.
It's actually running in production on multiple real Shopify Plus stores (Huckleberry Roasters, Bubble Goods, iROCKER), not just a demo repo with stars. It covers the commerce features that normally eat a sprint each: Customer Account API OAuth, combined listings/bundles, markets/localization, predictive search. The PWA implementation is scoped carefully — the service worker only caches hashed build assets and Shopify CDN images, and explicitly never touches HTML, cart, account, or checkout, which is exactly where naive PWA caching breaks commerce sites. The README documents a real deploy failure (Oxygen CI OOM from a 4.6MB sourcemap) with the actual env var fix and an explanation of why it can't be solved in vite.config.ts — that level of specificity is rare.
Adopting this means adopting Weaverse's SaaS editor (WEAVERSE_PROJECT_ID, Studio account) — it's not a standalone Hydrogen starter, and that dependency isn't optional. .env.example ships live demo-store tokens so the app runs out of the box, which is nice for a first run but a footgun if someone forgets to swap credentials before doing anything real with it. The project leans hard on AI-agent tooling (AGENTS.md, an MCP server, a setup skill) to the point where the documented 'fast path' is letting an agent configure the project rather than a human reading the code, which adds a layer of indirection to understanding what's actually happening. No clarity on whether the Playwright E2E suite covers content assembled through Weaverse sections, or only the static Hydrogen routes.
