// the take

Valaxy is a Vue 3 + Vite static site generator purpose-built for blogging, with file-based routing, a theme/layout system, and config+markdown hot reload. It's aimed at developers who already live in the Vue ecosystem and want a blog framework rather than reaching for Hexo, Hugo, or VitePress.

Hot reload covers both markdown content and valaxy.config.ts changes, not just the usual Vite HMR for components, which is a real quality-of-life win over Hexo-style rebuild cycles. The theme system (Layout auto-registration, valaxy-theme-starter scaffold) gives a real plugin boundary instead of forking the whole site. Built on Vite/Vue/UnoCSS so component auto-importing and icon sets just work without extra config. SSG output can still behave as an SPA, so client-side navigation stays fast after the initial load.

It's explicitly beta ('Working in Progress') with no 1.0, so config shape and theme APIs can still break between versions. The ecosystem is tiny next to Hexo/Hugo/VitePress — one official theme (valaxy-theme-yun) plus whatever third parties publish, so you're more exposed to the maintainer's own roadmap and bus factor. Primary docs, Discord, and community activity skew Chinese-language first with English as a secondary translation, which matters for support turnaround. Dependency on Rolldown (still pre-1.0 itself) for speed pulls in another moving target underneath an already-beta framework, so build issues can originate from either layer.
