A Pug/Stylus theme for Hexo (the static blog generator) aimed at personal/portfolio bloggers who want a visually dense, widget-heavy homepage out of the box. It's for someone already committed to Hexo who wants comment systems, search, and galleries wired up without writing templates themselves.
Ships working integrations for a dozen+ third-party services (Disqus, Giscus, GitHub Discussions/Issues, Twikoo, Waline, Algolia and local search, KaTeX, Mermaid, lightgallery) as drop-in Pug partials, so you configure YAML instead of writing templates. The monorepo cleanly splits the Hexo plugin (packages/hexo-theme-yun), the browser-side JS behaviors (hexo-theme-yun-js), and SCSS variables into separate packages. It has real multi-year adoption — dozens of live demo sites listed in the README, not just stars from a launch spike.
The README states upfront that the theme is in maintenance mode and points new users to a successor project (valaxy-theme-yun) instead — you'd be adopting something the author already considers superseded. It uses the SATA License, a joke license that textually requires you to keep starring the repo to use it; that's not a license any team can actually rely on for compliance purposes, and it's never been tested in court. It depends on Hexo's Pug and Stylus renderers, which aren't installed by Hexo by default, so setup has an extra step most modern theme ecosystems (Astro, VitePress) don't require. Most documentation and community support (demo sites, issue discussion) skews Chinese-language, which will slow down troubleshooting for an English-only team.
