Learn how to build an incredible e-commerce webshop with an admin dashboard and CMS using Next 14, Stripe, TypeScript, and Payload CMS.
A full e-commerce storefront built on the Next.js 14 App Router, with Payload CMS behind the catalogue and Stripe for checkout. It is a course project, so it works best as a worked example of wiring a headless CMS into a shop rather than as something to deploy unchanged.
The GraphQL queries are split one file per domain under src/app/_graphql (products, cart, orders, categories, pages, globals), so the data layer is easy to find. Route groups keep the account, cart, checkout and auth flows apart, and cart state runs through a reducer in a provider, which is a sensible pattern for a shop. A Dockerfile and docker-compose.yml ship with the repo, and a csp.js file suggests someone thought about Content Security Policy rather than skipping it.
The last push was 29 October 2024, and Next 14 is now behind the current major, so expect upgrade work before this runs on anything new. The README I was given is a title and two course-promotion links, with no setup steps, architecture notes or environment variable docs, so you learn how it runs by reading the code. Demo content lives in the source tree: public/admin ui holds Apple product photos and hero banners as static files, which ties the sample catalogue to the repo. The styleguide routes sit in the app and would ship to production unless you gate them, and I saw no test folder, though the listing is truncated.
