Ralph is the CMDB / Asset Management system for data center and back office hardware.
Ralph is a Django-based CMDB and DCIM system for tracking data center and back-office hardware — asset lifecycle, licenses, DC rack visualization, all in one admin app. It's aimed at ops/infra teams at a company large enough to need real asset inventory, not homelab users.
It's genuinely full-featured: lifecycle transitions with a configurable flow engine, LDAP sync, a REST API (src/ralph/api), and built-in DC visualization rather than just a spreadsheet-with-a-UI. The Django migrations are actively maintained through 2025 (not abandoned cruft), there's real CI with coverage tracking via Coveralls, and Docker Compose configs cover dev, local-dev, and demo setups so you can actually stand it up without guessing.
Allegro moved this to a 'sources only' model in 2025 — no guaranteed issue responses, no guaranteed PR review. For a system you'd trust with your hardware inventory, that's a real risk: bugs you hit may just sit there. The deploy surface is heavy (gunicorn, redis, nginx, a proper DB, multiple Dockerfiles) for what's fundamentally a Django admin app, so expect real ops overhead to run it yourself. UI is stock Django admin dressed up, not a purpose-built interface, which shows once you're past the demo screenshots.
