Track, Manage & Kill Bugs Effectively :knife: :beetle:
A self-hosted clone of GitHub's issue tracker UI (React/Redux frontend, Express/MongoDB backend) with mentions, reactions, and notifications. Useful as a reference implementation for anyone building a similar collaborative app, not as production software to adopt as-is.
The @bug-ui component library is hand-built (Avatar, Dropdown, Editor with mention plugin) rather than yanked from a UI framework, which makes it a decent study for custom component patterns. It actually has both Jest unit tests and Cypress e2e specs covering login, signup, and dashboard flows, not just a token test file. Socket.io is wired in for live notifications, and the feature set (bug labels, comment reactions, @ mentions, # bug references) is a genuinely complete take on collaborative issue tracking for a side project.
Dead since January 2023 with no commits since, and the live demo runs on Heroku, which killed free dynos in late 2022, so the linked demo is almost certainly down. The backend is plain JS while the frontend is TypeScript, an inconsistency that suggests the type safety story wasn't really finished. It uses Travis CI, which stopped offering free builds to open source repos years ago, so that badge is dead weight. There's a userModel and passport-auth setup but no visible rate limiting or CSRF handling in the middleware list, so it needs a real security pass before anyone points it at the internet.
