iReading App Write In React-Native

A reference React Native app from 2016-2022 implementing a Chinese-market reading/news aggregator, built with Redux + Redux-Saga + react-navigation. It's really a 'how to structure a real RN app' study project rather than a tool anyone would run today — useful if you want a worked example of the classic Redux-Saga architecture before hooks ate that niche.

Clean, conventional separation into actions/reducers/sagas/containers/components, with actual Jest specs for the sagas (app/sagas/_spec_) rather than just UI snapshot tests. CI is wired up (Travis, ESLint, Code Climate) which is more diligence than most tutorial-tier RN repos bother with. Cross-platform native bridging is real, not stubbed — WeChat share integration and Bugly crash reporting on iOS, not just a boilerplate shell.

The README admits the content API key is dead and the app won't fetch articles without the maintainer replacing their ShowAPI key in UrlUtil.js — so out of the box this doesn't actually work, which is a bad first impression for anyone cloning it. Last push was December 2022 and the toolchain shows it: Buck for Android builds, an old CodePush setup, and a pre-hooks react-navigation/redux-saga stack that's now a legacy pattern rather than current practice. There's a tsconfig.json in the repo but every source file is .js — vestigial config with no actual TypeScript. Several dependencies (WeChat SDK, Bugly, listings on 360/Wandoujia app stores) assume a Chinese app distribution context, so reusing pieces of this outside that ecosystem means ripping out platform-specific code first.
