An open-source personal API framework.
Daemon is a personal "API of yourself" — a Vue/VitePress dashboard plus a Cloudflare Worker that serves a live, machine-readable JSON feed of your status, activity, and projects, aggregating RSS/GitHub/X/LinkedIn/Beehiiv sources. It's for developers who want a public profile that agents and scripts can consume, not just a bio page for humans.
The split between the public framework repo and a private 'instance' repo (holding your actual daemon-data.json) means your personal data never touches the public codebase — a clean pattern for open-sourcing a personal tool. The TTL'd ephemera design is genuinely thought out: status/location fields carry expires stamps and get enforced at three separate layers (pre-deploy gate, edge strip, client hide), so stale 'I'm at X right now' data can't linger. The location safety gate (DeployGate.ts) blocking addresses, coordinates, and home-area strings before deploy is a real safeguard, not just a README claim.
The LinkedIn feed depends on a third-party paid Apify actor billed per scraped post, which is a fragile, ongoing-cost dependency for one feed type. Fonts referenced in the design (Butterick typefaces) aren't included and have to be bought or manually swapped, so the dashboard won't look like the demo out of the box. Test coverage is thin (one currentState.test.ts) for a project whose core value proposition is a safety gate that prevents leaking your real-world location. Setup is not drop-in — you fork, create a second private repo, provision a Cloudflare KV namespace, and hand-edit config plus DeployGate.ts before anything runs, which is more ceremony than a typical personal-site template.
