// the take
A long-form Markdown guide to Ethereum/EVM blockchain development, covering frontend, smart contracts, backend, core protocol work, and cryptography with links to further resources. It's aimed at developers trying to orient themselves in the web3 stack and figure out which specialization to pursue.
The roadmap structure (skill-based vs. application-based tracks) is a genuinely useful mental model for a space that's otherwise a mess of scattered blog posts and Twitter threads. The smart contract section includes a real compiled code example (not just prose) and correctly explains EOA vs. contract accounts, view functions, and the ABI. Link curation to primary sources (ethereum.org docs, Vitalik's PoS writeup) rather than secondary rehashes is a plus for a learning resource.
The README's first line states the repo is unmaintained and content is stale — the author redirects all traffic to devpill.me and a separate repo, so this GitHub project is a dead mirror, not where updates land. Several promised sections (MEV, security engineer, DeFi, L2s, cryptography) are listed as 'Coming soon' and were apparently never filled in before the project moved elsewhere. No commits since August 2023, so any contract code snippets or tooling recommendations (Solidity version pins, L2 landscape) are now two-plus years stale in a fast-moving ecosystem. It's pure prose/links with no runnable examples, exercises, or interactive component — purely passive reading material.
