Draven's Blog

This is Draveness's personal collection of deep-dive articles on iOS/Objective-C internals and popular library source code — ReactiveObjC, AFNetworking, SDWebImage, Masonry, AsyncDisplayKit, CocoaPods, plus some backend systems reading (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, distributed databases). It's for iOS developers who want to understand how the libraries they use every day are actually built, not for anyone looking for a library to install.

The article on AsyncDisplayKit's layout algorithm and preloading actually walks through the box-layout model and threshold logic instead of just restating the docs. The ObjC internals pieces (isa, message dispatch, autorelease pool, associated objects) go down to the runtime source, which is rare content in the iOS ecosystem. Coverage is broad and consistent — same the-code-then-the-explanation format across a dozen+ libraries, so once you know the pattern for one article you can skim the rest.

Everything is in Chinese with no English translation, which cuts the audience in half before you even open a file. The repo hasn't been touched since 2021, so anything written against library versions from that era (ReactiveObjC 2.1.2, AFNetworking 3.0.4) is stale for current Swift-first iOS codebases. It's a pile of markdown files with no index beyond a flat README table — no search, no site, no way to jump to a topic without already knowing which library it's filed under. The included Xcode sample projects (e.g. the AsyncDisplayKit Layout demo) are frozen at whatever SDK was current in 2021 and won't open cleanly in a modern Xcode without fixing project settings first.
