Lab "Criando um Banco Digital com Java e Orientação a Objetos".
A bootcamp-style exercise repo implementing a tiny digital bank in Java: checking and savings accounts with deposit, withdraw, and transfer, used to teach OOP fundamentals (abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism). It's aimed squarely at Java beginners working through a mentoring/livestream series, not at anyone looking for a usable banking component.
The class split (Conta as a base class, ContaCorrente/ContaPoupanca as subclasses, IConta as the interface) is a clean, minimal illustration of interface-based polymorphism that's easy to read start to finish in a few minutes. No build tool or dependency graph to fight through — just seven files in src/, so a newcomer can trace the whole flow of a deposit or transfer without getting lost.
Compiled .class files are committed under bin/, which means the repo tracks build artifacts instead of just source — a bad habit for anyone copying this as a template. There are no tests anywhere, so the account logic (balance checks, transfer validation) is unverified by anything but manual runs of Main. Everything sits in the default package with no documentation beyond a README that explains OOP theory in the abstract rather than what this specific implementation does. It hasn't been touched since August 2024 and the 744 forks vs. 317 stars tells you exactly what it's used for: a one-off exercise people fork to complete and never return to.
