The Robot Operating System Version 2.0 is awesome!
A community-maintained link dump of ROS 2 packages, tools, client libraries, and learning resources. Useful as a starting point when you don't know what exists in the ROS 2 ecosystem. Now deprecated — the maintainer is handing it off to Open Robotics.
Broad coverage across the stack: middleware (DDS/RMW implementations), client libraries in a dozen languages, hardware drivers, SLAM packages, and simulation tools all in one place. The categorization is reasonably fine-grained, making it easy to scan a specific layer. Includes non-obvious entries like FPGA acceleration (ReconROS), penetration testing tools (aztarna, ros2_fuzzer), and alternative transports (Zenoh).
Last updated August 2023 and now explicitly deprecated, so many links point to abandoned or superseded packages — ROS 2 has had three major distributions since most of this was written. No indication of which packages are actively maintained vs. three years stale. The README itself still says 'curated list' in the opening line while the project is being wound down. If you need current ROS 2 package discovery, ROS Index (index.ros.org) or the official ros2 GitHub org are better bets than this list.
