:sunglasses: A curated list of robotics libraries and software

A well-maintained awesome list covering the robotics software stack: physics engines, SLAM, motion planning, RL environments, IK solvers, and simulators. It's genuinely useful as a starting map for someone entering robotics software or evaluating options for a specific subsystem. Not a repo you use — a repo you consult.

Active maintenance with a June 2026 push and automated CI workflows for link checking, metadata refresh, and submission evaluation. The 🟢/🟡/🔴/💀 activity legend is a real differentiator — most awesome lists pretend everything is equally alive. Data is stored in per-category YAML files with a schema, so entries are structured rather than hand-edited markdown, which means the metadata (stars, last push) can be kept fresh via automation. Coverage of the dynamics simulation space is unusually deep, including niche libraries like siconos and MBSim that you won't find elsewhere.

The Machine Learning section lumps together generic deep learning C++ libraries (tiny-dnn, DLL) alongside robotics-specific tools, which muddies what 'robotics ML' means in 2026 — most of those C++ entries are dead weight. IK section is thin: six entries, half stale, and misses modern options. Some entries have no GitHub link at all (MBDyn, ODE, HPP), which undermines the metadata-driven approach since those can't be auto-refreshed. The COMPARISONS.md file referenced for dynamics simulation isn't reflected in the README structure, so readers who need to actually choose between MuJoCo, Drake, and Genesis get pointed to a side document rather than inline guidance.
