A curated list of awesome actions to use on GitHub
A community-maintained index of GitHub Actions, organized by category. It's a reference list, not a framework or tool — you come here when you need to find an action for a specific task and don't want to wade through the GitHub Marketplace.
Well-organized category structure makes it fast to scan for what you need. Covers both official GitHub actions and community contributions. Includes less-obvious categories like cross-arch runners, GPG key import, and VirusTotal scanning that you'd otherwise discover only by accident. The lint workflow actually validates links, so dead entries get caught.
Last push was September 2024 and some linked repos are themselves unmaintained or archived — the list has no staleness signal per entry, so you can't tell if an action is still actively developed without clicking through. No version pinning guidance, which matters a lot for security-conscious shops (a compromised action at a tag you've trusted is a real supply chain risk). The categories overlap and are inconsistently granular — 'Utility' is a dumping ground with 50+ items while 'Dynamic Analysis' has two. No search, no filtering, no popularity or maintenance health data.
