A curated list of amazingly awesome Home Assistant resources.
A well-maintained awesome list for Home Assistant — the open-source home automation platform. It covers custom integrations, dashboard cards, themes, apps, and community resources. The target audience is Home Assistant users who want to go beyond what ships out of the box.
The categorization is genuinely useful — splitting integrations by domain (energy, cameras, climate, etc.) rather than dumping everything alphabetically makes discovery fast. Star counts next to each entry give you an instant signal of adoption without leaving the page. The CI is real: workflows check for broken links, validate new listings against a schema, and auto-label PRs — the list doesn't rot. The companion website (awesome-ha.com) adds searchability that a raw README can't offer.
No quality floor beyond star count — a 165-star Elasticsearch integration gets the same weight as a 5,911-star Xiaomi MIoT one, and there's no indication of maintenance status or last-active date for individual projects. The list is almost exclusively cloud-friendly integrations mixed with local-control ones, with no tagging to distinguish them — if you care about local-only, you're reading descriptions one by one. Some categories (Vendor & brand especially) have grown long enough to need subcategories, making them harder to scan. There's no indication of Home Assistant version compatibility, which matters when integrations break on core updates.
