Examples for “Idiomatic Redux”: one branch per lesson
This is Dan Abramov's companion code for the 'Idiomatic Redux' egghead.io course, structured as one branch per lesson so you can diff a single concept at a time. It's aimed at developers learning Redux fundamentals from scratch, not at anyone looking for a starter template.
The branch-per-lesson structure is genuinely useful pedagogy — you can `git diff` between two branches and see exactly what one lesson added, which is rare discipline for example repos. The reducer composition and action creator patterns are still the correct mental model for vanilla Redux even now. Small enough (a dozen files) to read start to finish in one sitting.
Last pushed in 2020 — no hooks, no Redux Toolkit, connect() and mapStateToProps throughout, which is not how anyone should write Redux in 2026. No tests at all, so it teaches Redux without teaching how to verify a reducer does what you think. Tied to a paid egghead course for the actual explanations, so the code alone is less useful without that context. Dependencies (old webpack config, babel-core) will fight you if you try to `npm install` it today.
