Database CRUD Application Built on Electron | MySQL, Postgres, SQLite
ElectroCRUD is an Electron desktop app that gives you a GUI for CRUD operations against MySQL, Postgres, SQLite, or SQL Server without writing an admin backend. It's aimed at people who want a quick local database browser/editor — closer to a lightweight DBeaver alternative than a hosted admin panel.
Single app covers four database engines, so you're not switching tools when the project stack changes. The v3 rewrite added table/column-level documentation and tagging, which is a genuinely useful feature most GUI DB clients skip — explaining an unfamiliar schema inline beats grepping for a wiki page. The project also has real engineering hygiene for its size: husky pre-commit hooks, commitlint, and semantic-release wired up.
Last push was October 2023 — over two years stale, and the v3 React/TypeScript rewrite reads like it may have stalled mid-way. There's no access-control or audit-logging story anywhere in the README; a tool that does full CRUD against live databases with no read-only mode or permission model is risky to point at anything but a disposable dev DB. The repo also ships fully built third-party devtools (react-devtools, redux-devtools, node-devtools with locale files for ~90 languages) committed straight into the tree instead of gitignored — that's dead weight bloating clone size and signals the repo isn't being kept tidy. The README itself is pure marketing copy with no architecture notes or test coverage numbers, despite a jest.config.js existing, so you can't tell how solid the internals actually are without cloning and digging.
