gitdagray/typescript-course
A companion repo for Dave Gray's YouTube TypeScript course, with a lesson folder per chapter covering the language basics and then TypeScript with React. It's built for people following along with the videos, not for using as a standalone reference or library.
- Progression is genuinely incremental — each lesson folder isolates one concept (generics, index signatures, useReducer, useContext) rather than dumping everything into one project
- The later chapters build a real small app (cart/products with context + custom hooks) instead of staying purely toy examples
- Compiled build/ output is checked in alongside src/ for the early lessons, so a beginner can diff what tsc actually produced
- Dead without the video — no explanations in the repo itself, so it's useless as a standalone learning resource or reference
- Stalled at lesson16/17: no tests, no CI, no linting config anywhere
- Committing build/ output and node_modules-adjacent artifacts (package-lock.json per lesson with no root workspace) is sloppy repo hygiene, not something to copy
- Last pushed January 2024 and TypeScript/React specifics move fast enough that some of this (React 18 patterns, tsconfig defaults) is already dating
