// the take

A grab-bag of standalone TypeScript examples (arrow functions, classes, generics, modules, a banking domain model, a small cookbook app) built to accompany Dan Wahlin's TypeScript courses. It's for people learning the language feature-by-feature, not for anyone looking for a library or starter template.

Each concept gets its own isolated folder with a runnable index.html, so you can poke at one feature (generics, union types, module patterns) without wading through a bigger app. The progression from basic types through classes, interfaces, and modules to a full object-oriented course series gives a reasonable learning path, and a couple of examples (cookbook, object-oriented series) go far enough to show how the pieces compose into something real.

Last pushed in March 2023 and built against an old TypeScript/tooling baseline (bundled bootstrap.min.css per example, webpack configs from the pre-Vite era, plnkr.json files), so the setup won't match how anyone writes TS today. No tests anywhere, and compiled .js/.js.map files are checked into several example folders alongside the .ts sources, which means they drift out of sync the moment someone edits the TypeScript and forgets to rebuild. It's a teaching aid tied to a specific course rather than a maintained project, so don't expect issues or PRs to get attention.

We read the README, the directory tree and a key source file in October 2026. Nobody pays to be listed. How we judge →
