Mastering Shiny: a book

This is the bookdown source for Mastering Shiny, Hadley Wickham's reference text on building Shiny apps in R, covering everything from basic reactivity to modules, testing, and performance at scale. It's aimed at R developers who already know the language and want a serious treatment of Shiny rather than a tutorial-level intro.

The content progression is genuinely well-structured, moving from basic UI/server concepts through reactivity internals to production concerns like testing and performance profiling — most Shiny material stops well short of that. Each chapter's demo apps and diagrams are checked into the repo as real, runnable R code and source .graffle files, not just prose. It's actively maintained (build-book CI workflow, recent pushes) rather than an abandoned book dump.

It's licensed CC BY-NC-ND, so no derivatives and no commercial use — you can read it free online but can't fork it into your own training material or adapt it. The repo is a book's build source, not a library: cloning it gets you .Rmd files, demo .rds/.png assets, and Omnigraffle diagrams, which is a lot of dead weight if you just want the text. Being R/Shiny-specific, there's no code here of any use outside that ecosystem, and the fork count is inflated by people cloning the book source rather than contributing.
