A collection of simple graphics made with D3.js

This is the source for the d3-graph-gallery.com website — a large library of standalone HTML files, each a self-contained D3.js chart example (bar, line, sankey, network, ridgeline, treemap, wordcloud, and dozens more). It's aimed at anyone who wants a working D3 chart to copy-paste and adapt rather than learn D3's API from scratch.

The breadth is genuinely impressive — most common chart types have a basic version plus variants (tooltip, animation, color, button-driven data swap, small multiples), so you can usually find something close to what you need rather than starting from a blank SVG. Each example is a single runnable HTML file with inline script, so there's zero setup cost to try one. The progressive structure (basic → template → feature-specific variant) makes it easy to layer complexity in rather than reverse-engineering one giant example.

It's pinned to D3 v4 (LIB/d3.v4.min.js) — current D3 is on v7+, and APIs like d3.scale.*, d3.event, and the old selection idioms shown here will actively mislead someone writing against modern D3. There's no package.json or build step; you can't npm install this, you can only copy files by hand, and there's no dependency graph telling you what each example actually needs beyond eyeballing the script tags. The repo itself is cluttered with unrelated cruft committed alongside the gallery — DATA/OLD dumps, .Rhistory, .docx files, ads.txt — signs this is a personal working directory as much as a curated example set. No tests or validation that examples still run; breakage would only surface from someone reporting it on the live site.
