imapClient for gmail and sms using twilio
A small C program that polls a Gmail inbox over IMAP and fires an SMS via Twilio when new mail arrives. It's a personal notification hack, not a library or service — useful only as a starting point for someone who wants to see raw libcurl IMAP calls in C.
Shows a minimal, dependency-light way to talk IMAP directly with libcurl instead of pulling in a full IMAP library. Single-file C source is easy to read end-to-end in a few minutes, and pairing it with Twilio for SMS is a reasonable, low-effort notification channel.
Polling instead of IMAP IDLE means it's either slow to notice new mail or wasteful of API calls, depending on the interval. The README admits buffer sizes for mail body/header are fixed, not configurable, which reads as a straightforward buffer overflow risk on a longer email. No error handling described for auth failures, network drops, or Twilio API errors, and there's no license, no tests, and no commits since 2019 — for Gmail's IMAP access this also predates the shift away from plain password auth to OAuth2/app passwords, so it likely doesn't even authenticate against Gmail anymore without rework.
