Artificial Intelligence for Humans
Companion source code for Jeff Heaton's 'Artificial Intelligence for Humans' book series, implementing classic AI/ML algorithms (k-means, RBF networks, simulated annealing, linear regression, basic neural nets) in parallel across C, C#, Java, Python, and R. It's for someone working through the books who wants runnable reference code next to the text, not a library to pull into a project.
Having the same algorithm implemented in five languages side by side is genuinely useful if you're porting something or comparing idioms — the k-means and RBF network code in particular is small enough to actually read start to finish. It covers algorithms most modern tutorials skip because they just call sklearn or TensorFlow (hand-rolled simulated annealing, Nelder-Mead, equilateral encoding), which is useful if you want to understand the mechanics rather than the API. The C# examples have an actual UnitTests project, which is more than most book-companion repos bother with.
Dead since the last commit in 2018 and it shows — the C# projects target old .NET Framework (packages.config, VS2012 .sln files), CsvHelper is pinned at 2.2.2, and there's no sign this gets touched again. The code is explicitly tied to the paid book text for explanation; read in isolation it's just loose example files with minimal comments, so you're paying the comprehension cost the book was supposed to cover. Language coverage is inconsistent by the maintainer's own admission — not every volume has examples in every language, and you have to dig into per-folder READMEs to find out which. It's a flat pile of standalone example projects, not a packaged library, so there's nothing to `import`/`using` without copy-pasting files into your own project.
