Code for choosing a state manager for React
A side-by-side gallery of ~25 implementations of the same small React app, one per state management approach (Context, Zustand, Redux Toolkit, Jotai, XState, MobX, Recoil, and so on). Built for the 'which library do I pick' decision — useful for developers comparing paradigms rather than evaluating one specific library in isolation.
Running the identical app through hooks, atomic, reactive, FSM, and bidirectional models side by side is a genuinely useful comparison format you don't see elsewhere — the diff between examples is almost entirely the state library, not incidental tooling choices. Every example shares the same Vite + TypeScript + Tailwind scaffold, so reading one store.tsx after another is a fair comparison instead of noise from different build setups. The category taxonomy (Hooks / FSM / Atomic / Reactive / Unidirectional / Bidirectional) is a reasonable mental model for thinking about the field, not just a library list.
Last commit is from September 2022 — over three years stale in a space that's moved a lot since (Recoil is effectively dead now, Jotai/Zustand/RTK have all had breaking releases). Conclusions drawn from this repo about 'which library wins' are out of date. The README just lists 25 separate localhost ports to click through one at a time; there's no written verdict or comparison table of trade-offs, so you still have to read every store.tsx yourself to form an opinion — it's a demo grid, not an analysis. The npm download badges in the README are static images fetched at render time, not a real trend signal, and there are no tests anywhere in the repo to show the examples still build against current library versions.
