HotTowel with Angular (for NuGet)

A NuGet-installable starter template that scaffolds an AngularJS 1.x single-page app onto an empty ASP.NET project, built by John Papa around his Pluralsight SPA courses. It's for someone doing ASP.NET + Angular 1.x work circa 2013-2014 who wants routing, a service layer, and Bootstrap styling wired up on day one.

The module layout (app/layout, app/services, app/common) is a clean example of the folder-by-feature convention that became standard advice for Angular 1.x apps. The optional Breeze.js add-on package shows a sensible separation between the base template and richer data-binding concerns, so you're not forced into a heavier dependency. Shipping as a NuGet package meant it integrated with the ASP.NET workflow devs were already using instead of requiring a separate build step.

AngularJS 1.x has been end-of-life since 2022 and this repo hasn't been touched since 2014, so it's a template for a framework nobody should start new work in. The repo is mostly binary NuGet packages and minified vendor scripts (bootstrap, font-awesome, ui-bootstrap) checked into source control rather than a lockfile, which makes it heavy and hard to audit. There's no build tooling beyond install.ps1 and flush.cmd, no tests, and no CI — everything about the packaging and update story is manual and pre-dates npm/Bower even being standard for this kind of thing.
