A curated list of awesome System Design (A.K.A. Distributed Systems) resources.
A link-dump of system design and distributed systems resources — articles, books, videos, and tool listings organized by category. Aimed at interview prep and developers getting started with distributed architecture. No original content; pure aggregation.
- Tool sections are well-categorized by type (cache, document store, wide-column, graph) with brief differentiators — actually useful when you're choosing a DB and don't know the landscape
- Distinguishes free vs paid resources explicitly, which saves time
- Hadoop ecosystem section with the diagram is one of the more coherent quick-reference layouts for that sprawling tech stack
- Last substantive update appears to be years ago — star counts are stale, several links are dead or point to retired projects (e.g., Apache Apex listed as retired but still included), and some YouTube channels are inactive
- No curation signal: a 109k-star canonical resource (system-design-primer) sits next to a random Medium post with no indication of quality difference
- REST frameworks section has nothing to do with system design or distributed systems — it's filler that dilutes the focus
- Zero practical examples, architectures, or case studies of how these tools are used together; it's a flat list, not a learning path
