mbrlabs/Lorien
Infinite canvas drawing/whiteboarding app for Windows, Linux and macOS. Made with Godot.
Lorien is an infinite-canvas drawing and note-taking app built in Godot, aimed at people who want a lightweight sketching/brainstorming tool rather than a full raster painting program like Krita or GIMP. It's best suited for quick vector sketches, diagrams, and freehand notes on desktop, especially with a drawing tablet.
Strokes are stored as point data rather than bitmaps, so files stay tiny and zoom is effectively unbounded without resolution loss - a real architectural difference from raster tools, not just a feature checkbox. Building on Godot gets it GPU-accelerated pan/zoom and cross-platform builds for free instead of a hand-rolled renderer. The feature list is unusually complete for a project this size: infinite undo/redo, multi-document editing, tablet pressure curves, rebindable shortcuts, SVG export, and 12+ language translations. CI actually builds and ships release artifacts for all three platforms, not just source.
The maintainer flags the savefile format as still subject to change, which is a real risk if you're treating this as a long-term notebook rather than scratch space. GDScript and Godot's editor/scene system are a steeper entry point for outside contributors than a typical web or native-toolkit app, which likely explains the single-maintainer feel of the codebase. There's no raster or image import, so you can't drop a screenshot or photo onto the canvas to annotate it - it's vector-only. No plugin or extension mechanism is mentioned, so any feature you want beyond the built-in tool set has to go through the core maintainer.
