🌱 [Deprecated] Extensible, reliable, modular, PWA ready starter project for Angular (2 and beyond) with statically typed build and AoT compilation

An Angular 2-era starter project with a hand-rolled build pipeline (gulp, SystemJS, Rollup, AoT) that predates Angular CLI. It's officially deprecated — the README is a single line telling you to use Angular CLI instead. Only useful now if you're archaeology-diving into pre-CLI Angular tooling or maintaining a legacy app that was scaffolded from it years ago.

The tooling choices were legitimately sophisticated for 2016: AoT compilation via Rollup, a service worker/PWA config, i18n merge tooling, and a Karma+Cypress test setup, all wired through custom gulp tasks in tools/tasks/seed. For historical reference, it's a good example of what people cobbled together before Angular CLI existed to solve bundling and tree-shaking themselves.

It's dead — the README is just a deprecation notice and a link out, there's no migration guide for existing consumers. The build system (gulp + SystemJS + custom TypeScript project files in tools/utils/seed/tsproject.ts) is exactly the kind of bespoke config Angular CLI was created to eliminate, so none of it transfers to current Angular practice. Dependencies are frozen at Angular 2/4-era APIs with a yarn.lock that hasn't tracked a security patch in years — do not clone this for a new project.
